Personality[]

At first he is shown to be austere and imperious by telling Hana that she is not fit for a life of farming and she should stop smiling cause she looks like a fool, also being merciless when he dug the potatoes out the soil saying the soil is not ready, or the time when he can see Hana is tired yet he told her to dig the other side. When Hana said jokingly and tiredly that she and her children have to many potatoes, he just scowled. After Hana was about to thank him for being patient, Grandpa Nirasaki drove away.

But here's the twist. All along he just want to help Hana and he asked all the people to look after her. This just means that Grandpa Nirasaki may be at first all rude and cold but he actually is caring and patient, helping those in need.
